We are also upset they are paid below the minimum wage. Not to mention the levies which still widely practiced in that unit (Cleanliness Department),” stated Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Thursday (5/15).

According to Basuki, Jakarta Provincial Government has coordinated with Jakarta Housing and Government’s Building Department for facilitating the janitors to get flat units. In addition, city government is also trying to get Social Security Agency (BPJS) cards for the janitors as well as Jakarta Smart Cards (KJP) for their children.
